Iranian Qaris Recite Quran in Tanzania Program Attended by Thousands of People
It was organized by the International Propagation Center of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) in cooperation with a number of Iranian and Tanzanian institutions.
Prominent Iranian qaris Hamed Shakernejad and Ahmad Abolghassemi recited verses from the Holy Quran at the program, which was attended by thousands of the city’s Quran-loving people.
The two are prominent Iranian Quran reciters who have risen to greater prominence as hosts of the widely viewed Mahfel TV Show. They recently participated in events in Indonesia.
Their performance in Tanga was widely praised by the audience.
They are also planned to take part in another major Quranic gathering in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.
The large-scale gathering, held under the theme “A Grand Assembly in the Light of the Quran,” will bring together prominent Quran reciters from around the world.
